Slovenski Dan Exhibit

The Slovenski Dan Exhibit is scheduled for July 5, 2009 in conjunction with the Slovenski Dan celebration at Slovensko Letovisce near Bolton, Ontario. The exhibit is cultural and educational in nature. We exhibit artifacts from Slovenia such as replicas and miniatures of a KOLOVRAT, a KOZOLEC, a KLOPOTEC, a KORUZNIK, etc. and teach young Slovenians about their uses in Slovenia. Since many of our young Slovenians have never been to Slovenia we try to bring part of Slovenia to them. We also make available Slovenian flags and other memorabilia to instill Slovenian pride into the younger generation.

Did you know that 60 musicians from Slovenske Zeleznice will visit Canada and perform at Slovenian Summer Camp in Bolton, Ontario on July 5, 2009. Slovenski Dom from Toronto will have a Slovenian Cultural Exhibit at the same place and time. I am looking forward to meeting those musicians. My father worked for Slovenske Zeleznice in Maribor. Maybe I will meet a musician from Maribor who may have known my father.
