Slovenian Culture and Heritage
Slovenski Dom is planning to establish a Slovenian Language Resource Centre (SLRC). Volunteers, interested in Slovenian culture and language, are needed to help with setting up the Centre. For more information please contact Oscar Koren at 905-669-2365 or by email okoren@sympatico.ca.

Q1. What is the purpose of the Slovenian Language Resource Centre (SLRC)?
A1. The purpose is to increase the knowledge of Slovenian language.
Q2 How would this be done?
A2. By delivering opportunities for you to participate in a variety of Slovenski Dom activities and events where you can practice speaking Slovenian with your fellow Slovenians. And to borrow resources from SLRC.
Q3. What resources would the Centre offer?
A3. The Centre would offer Slovenian books, Slovenian audio courses for beginners, films, CDs, music, photos, project reports and instructional materials.
Q4. How will I know what resources are being offered?
A4. The plan is to catalog all available resources and publish them on Slovenski Dom website www.slovenskidom.com
Q5. When will SLRC become operational?
A5. That depends on the number of volunteers that are interested in making SLRC a reality. We are here to help you build success on your own terms!

Slovenian Nation
For those of you that understand both Slovenian and English, I have a challenge for you. I need as good English translation of the definition of "Slovenian Nation". Below I am posting both the Slovenian and English versions. All you have to do is edit the English version so that it better captures the essence of the Slovenian version. Please post your English edited version.
"Slovenski narod je naravna skupnost posameznikov slovenskega rodu, ki je na temeljih slovenske kulture zgradila lastno državo. Slovenski narod sestavljajo Slovenci po zavesti, hotenju in jeziku pa tudi po lastnostih, ki jih dajejo rod, kulturno izročilo in ter skupna preteklost, ne glede na kraj rojstva ali bivanja."
